22nd WPC Young Volunteers Programme

  • The National Committees are invited to nominate two young people e.g. students or young professionals (under 35) from their country to participate at the 22nd WPC for free in exchange for their part time services at the event (3-4 hours/day).
  • The students / young professionals will have the opportunity to attend sessions and be able to network with senior professionals, other students and young professionals at the 22nd WPC. 
  • The students / young professionals will have the opportunity to participate in Oil Games – “OILYMPICS - ISTANBUL” on Saturday, July 8th, 2017.
  • The students / young professionals must take part in the official training session on Sunday, July 9th, 2017, to be eligible to join the Young Volunteers Programme.
  • Candidates for Young Volunteers Programme must be a BS, MS, PhD student (currently studying in the areas relevant to the energy industry) or a young professional (working in the areas relevant to the energy industry).

The selected candidates for the Young Volunteers Programme will be expected to:

  • Work part time at the Congress (3-4 hours/day)
  • Participate in the Youth Programme at the 22nd WPC (at least 1 session per day)
  • Participate actively in the pre-congress engagement by providing comments on the industry-related topics through WPC YP Connect LinkedIn group (at least 1 post per week)
  • Join “Oilympics Istanbul” on July 8th, 2017 (optional)
  • Arrive in Istanbul, by Friday, July 7th, 2017 for “Oilympics – Istanbul” participants
  • Participate in the “Young Volunteers Programme – Training” on July 9th, 2017. The training is mandatory and candidates who fail to participate in the training will not be eligible to continue participating in the Volunteers Programme
  • Arrive in Istanbul, by Saturday, July 8th, 2017 for non - “Oilympics - Istanbul” participants
  • Be prepared for teamwork
